If you’d like to get your family out into nature, but aren’t sure where to start, then check out the brand-new web site, Nature Rocks.
It’s a very clever and easy-to-use site. And the best thing about it is that it will have you out the door and exploring nature in minutes, armed with tons of fun ideas, resources, and even maps.
Only have a half hour and toddlers to entertain? Get concrete ideas for finding roly-polies in your backyard or neighborhood, or experiencing a tree using all your senses. Older children can listen for bird sounds, study the clouds, or become master grass whistlers.
If you want to go further afield, just plug in your zip code, the activity you’re seeking, and the time alotted, and you’ll get a list of hiking trails, wildlife centers, or swimming spots, each linked to a map, so you can get there.
Naturerocks also features general information and resources, as well as a feature that lets you connect with others who are also interested in getting their families outdoors for fun.
See you out there!
